Privacy policy

In short. Papo collects no personal data. There is no account, no advertising, no usage statistics, no crash reporting and no third-party tool that sends data. We do not know who uses the app.

What stays on the device

The child’s progress (pictures discovered, stickers, ladybugs, stars) and the settings (languages, volumes, timer) are stored in the app. The “The family’s voice” recordings are short audio files kept in the app’s folder. None of this is sent anywhere, to us or to anyone else.

On iPhone and iPad, as with any app, this data may be part of the device backup if you turned it on (iCloud or computer). On Android, Papo is excluded from automatic backup. Deleting the app erases everything.

The microphone

The microphone is only used in the Parents’ corner, when an adult records the name of a picture in their own voice. Permission is asked at the first recording, not before. Each recording lasts 4 seconds at most, stays on the device and is erased with the “Delete” button. The microphone is never used on the child’s side. You can withdraw the permission at any time in the device settings.

Connections

Papo works offline. It only connects to the store, the App Store or Google Play, to show the price, buy “The whole book” or find a purchase already made. The links to this website and to our email address are in the Parents’ corner; they open the device’s browser or mail app.

Purchases

Purchases go through Apple or Google, under their own terms and privacy policy. They do not send us your name, your email address or your payment details. The app only receives the confirmation that the book was bought, and keeps it on the device.

Apple and Google show publishers overall figures: number of downloads, sales by country, and crash reports from people who agreed to share them in their device settings. These figures do not tell us who you are.

Children

Papo is made for children aged 2 to 7 and follows the rules of the App Store Kids category and the Google Play Families program. Since no data is collected, there is no parental consent to obtain, under the GDPR or under the US COPPA law.

The Parents’ corner, the purchase, the links that leave the app and waking Papo up are protected by a parental gate: the adult taps three numbers, written out in words, in the order asked. Nothing on the child’s side invites them to buy.

If you write to us

Your message and your address are only used to reply to you. We delete them three years after our last exchange.

This website

No cookies, no audience measurement, no advertising. The text uses your device’s font and nothing is loaded from another service. The site is hosted on a server rented from IONOS SARL (Sarreguemines, France). It keeps technical logs without IP addresses (page requested, date and time, browser), erased each time the site is updated.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, erase or port your data, to restrict its processing, or object to it, by writing to support@saden.info.

The app’s data is on your device, and you erase it yourself: “Reset progress” in the Parents’ corner for the progress, “Delete” for each recording, or deleting the app for everything.

If you believe your rights are not respected, you can complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr), or to the authority of your country.
